Cupcakes!

I am obsessed with cupcakes! I am always craving one.
Being that I live in Chicago right now, there are many cupcake places to choose from. The first cupcake bakery I tested from was Sprinkles.

Chicago's Sprinkles is located at 50 East Walton. The building has the signature cupcake tops on the wall outside. So cute!

Red velvet is my favorite. It has a cream cheese frosting that is to die for.

They bake the red velvet cupcakes everyday whereas with some of the other flavors they only bake on certain days. The average cost for one cupcake is about $3.50.
This location usually always has a line of people waiting to purchase their little cakes of goodness. The store does not offer tables and chairs, yet it does include a bench on the inside and the outside for it's patrons to sit and eat.
Check out their website to learn more and to find out what days your favorite flavor is baking on. www.sprinkles.com

The next cupcake bakery I tried was Crumbs. My friend told me about it yesterday. We talked it over a bit and had our mind set on finding the Chicago Crumbs location and eating cupcakes that day. It was a bit of a hike for us, but well worth it. Chicago's location is at 303 West Madison.
It is a very small shop with no tables or chairs, but my friend and I did sit on the radiator near the floor and munched on our goodies.

I purchased a Black Bottom Cheesecake cupcake and she bought the Cookie Dough one.
These cupcakes are bigger than Sprinkles but their price range is roughly the same. Many of their cupcakes offered cookie or candy chunks on the tops, adding to the sweetness of the frosting. Unlike Sprinkles, Crumbs offers more than just cupcakes. They bake cakes, doughnuts, muffins, and more at their locations. Check out their website to learn more about Crumbs and find the location closet to you. www.crumbs.com

All in all, I really enjoyed both cupcake places and plan to return to both of them in the future. As with anything, they have their positives and negatives.
What is the best cupcake you have ever had? Best cupcake bakery you have ever been to?

It's a brand new day!

Welcome fellow bloggers!
I have decided to give in and create a blog. My best friend has one and now I have to jump on the bandwagon. This blog will not be dedicated to one specific topic but rather will be a general blog for anything I feel you may find interesting. Feel free to let me know what you would like to see on here.
I am brand new to this world so please hang in there with me until I get a good grip on things.
Get ready to think outside the box!
